We have been supplying great quality furniture for just under 10 years from our Midlands showroom located at 777-779 Warwick Road in Birmingham. We remain a family run business who strive to deliver excellent products at the lowest possible prices. The family have a successful history in business and have operated from the same premises for over 25 years.

We are proud to operate in a unique fashion in such a competitive market. Firstly we provide many new offers every month, however unlike most retailers, we do not set expiration periods on such offers. Therefore prices remain at these great low prices for as long as possible. Instead of seasonal sales for limited periods, we prefer to constantly stay hugely below our competitors prices... and we check every single day to ensure we stick to our promise.

So why are prices so incredibly low at The Modern Home? Firstly, we appreciate that many retailers have large overheads and many sales staff therefore prices must remain high. Also many consumers believe that customer service is superior with such retailers. It is not unreasonable for customers to assume that budget prices and high quality customer care and service, as well as quality products cannot all be achieved from one single retailer without sacrificing at least one aspect.

However at The Modern Home we offer professional customer care with a personal touch. Furthermore, we are not restrained by huge overheads like our larger counterparts, and can therefore dramatically reduce our profit margin benefiting the consumer as well as keeping the company profitable.

Our relationship with furniture suppliers across the UK is a longstanding one which has resulted in great privileges which we can offer to the end consumer. We have evaluated and considered over 80 suppliers, literally from around the world, to bring the highest quality furniture at the lowest possible prices whilst catering for every budget from small to extravagant. Our furniture is selected from the most distinguished suppliers in the industry based on delivery times, returns handling, quality and pricing.

Put simply, we only charge a minimum amount on each product instead of the conventional method of using a percentage to calculate our prices. Instead of charging between 35% to 150% profit like our competitors, we charge a small sum on our products.

Please do not let our low prices reflect poorly on the quality of our products. Always view the RRP (recommended retail price) of the furniture to get an idea of what it should cost. Then compare it to our price to see how much you are saving.

Furthermore, this website has been developed to provide the greatest experience possible for the visitor with great functionality and features:

• A specialised search is available in the top header for item names when revisiting or just browsing.

• We have LIVE auctions which you can bid on once you quickly register for free. (Currently under development)

• Items can be saved to your wish list until the next time you visit.

• We offer a feature packed Newsletter every month packed with great new items, of course at the most competitive prices in the UK! Also you are entered for a special gift draw when you subscribe to the free service.

• An extensive help feature is installed which can be accessed by clicking FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) under the Customer Info section on the left. More help is available via email or telephone and just incase something does go wrong, a direct mobile line to our site engineer is available.

• Once you have ordered, you can revisit and track the status of your order in real-time as well as automatically being notified by email.

• We have tried to show four high quality pictures for each product, which has taken us over 18 months to incorporate into the website by editing each image individually four times.

• You can choose to checkout using your debit or credit card via our 128 bit secure server located in the UK. Or you can opt to pay via Cheque, Postal Order or Cash on Collection. Your financial details are not stored and all other information (name, address, telephone number etc) is kept fully encrypted at all times from when you enter your details to when we despatch your order. No staff member can access financial details or passwords.

• Our Design Studio is currently under development to help you choose what is right for your home, business and budget. The Studio will play a vital role connecting users from a virtual environment with reality. This will be done by offering sample swatches of leather and wood, as well forums keeping you updated on interior design with an opportunity to voice your opinion. It will also involve site visits for corporate customers and development projects as well as matching samples of existing colour themes and furnishings.

• Our Text Offers service is an innovative way to help save you money. Simply text us 3 or more product SKU codes (located in the top right of every item description page) include your county and the best possible price you are willing to pay. Our prices are already extremely low so any sensible offer will be considered and you will either receive an offer-acceptance or counter offer followed by a discount code to enter at checkout. It is a fun, fast and simple way of trying to save money.

• We recommend the you attempt to assemble any flat-packed furniture, however if you wish for us to assemble your order for you, we have a competitive pricing structure to provide a professional assembly service.

• Finally, our loyal local customers are rewarded with collection offers which are available direct from our Birmingham showroom. Collection is of course available to anyone.
